The Responsible Gambling Council presented a new prevention project for Ontario secondary school students. This year, RGC challenged students to use their creativity and computer skills to design a web page that informs their peers about the risks that can be associated with teen gambling.
Students from across the province submitted entries. Web page designs were evaluated for creativity and originality, appropriateness of message and overall impact. Two scholarships were awarded for first and second place web page designs. Congratulations to the following students for their award winning submissions:
1st Place $1,000 Scholarship Award – Robert Hayes, Grade 12 student, St. Anne High, Windsor, Ontario
2nd Place $500.00 Scholarship Award – Morgan Dunbar, Grade 11 student, W.C. Eaket Secondary School, Blind River, Ontario
RGC is pleased to announce that its next prevention project for Ontario secondary school students will be the Spoken Word Poetry Contest. Watch for more details in the fall.
